Another perspective on the debate started by the The Power of Partnership report, launched a couple of weeks ago:
Andrew Taylor, Director of Aldwych partners explains that the new models of contracting suggested do not have anything in them that inherently conflicts with NHS rules on patient choice, procurement and competition. However he adds the caution that “New ways of delivering services will almost always result in organisational winners and losers. In the extreme, a complaint can be made that will result in scrutiny of the new arrangements by Monitor.” This blog is a great complement to the report and explores further the Alliance and Prime contracting models.
