Get to know the ZPB team

It’s time to meet another member of ZPB and today it’s our resident Kansan Megan Anderson.  Megan joined us from Barts Health NHS Trust and before that she was an account manager at Grey Health and this wide-ranging experience has set her in good stead as an Account Director at ZPB. She’s not only unflappable but she also brings intelligent design and impeccable delivery to all her work whether that is a wellness app, T-Cell testing or patient engagement for a new therapy.

What’s the most interesting part of your job?

The insight work that we do at ZPB is what I find the most interesting. I love working out what makes a potential customer/service-user tick, what influences their behaviour and using that insight to develop creative solutions for our clients. This also means that we’re constantly learning and gaining knowledge about various parts of the health system and are better able to provide evidence-based advice to our clients.

What has been the biggest client challenge you’ve faced over the last 12 months?

Finding a voice for our clients in the crowded media space. Despite the ever-evolving and fast moving Covid news agenda, the team at ZPB has managed to get some great coverage for our clients, but this has meant following even more closely what’s happening in health and politics and being poised and ready with creative angles to jump on any opportunities – and not being too discouraged when your story gets bumped for a last-minute Boris press announcement.

Thinking about things ‘getting back to normal’ what are you most looking forward to for your clients?

Our clients have just as much ‘zoom-fatigue’ as we do, so I think we’re all looking forward to spending less time in front of a screen and more time in person, particularly for things like workshops where the dynamics of being in the same room is invaluable for the creative process. Miro is good, but you can’t beat a good old-fashioned flip-chart and post-it notes spread all over a wall.

What do you think makes ZPB a unique place to work?

We work with clients who are passionate about using their products or services to make a positive difference to the health of the population. ‘Patient-focused’ is a term that’s thrown around a lot in the healthcare sector, but it really is a huge part of our day-to-day work at ZPB.

What would you say to someone thinking of joining ZPB?

Working at ZPB is a great way to get a more holistic view of the healthcare industry, you’ll meet some seriously smart and influential people and you’ll have a small but super supportive team to push you to grow and learn.

What are you most looking forward to for the rest of 2021?

Seeing the impact that the vaccine has on our immunity to Covid and what learnings we’ll all take from the pandemic for the future…and beach holidays (fingers crossed!).
