Last week, the Department of Health launched an extension of the ‘Provider Quality Profile’, which allows users to search for local home care, residential or nursing home providers within an area and link to Care Quality Commission reports and information.
The extension will allow providers of local care to upload an array of information from staff biographies to visiting arrangements. At the same time, users of local care can post comments about the care that they received.
We welcome any platform which allows further dialogue between providers and users. Not only does it help providers identify areas to improve upon, it also enhances users decision making abilities and empowers them to comment on the service that they received. We believe this interaction is the cornerstone of any modern healthcare system.
