Today the Royal College of Physicians released a report titled: ‘National Early Warning Score (NEWS) – Standardising the assessment of acute-illness severity in the NHS’.
The report suggests compiling the different types of NHS charts into a single chart, which would be used to monitor patient’s vital signs. The impact of this would be a reduction in the miscalculation of patients’ conditions, whilst easing the transition of doctors and nurses to new hospitals.
This is great news for our friends over at The Learning Clinic (TLC). We think they have the answer to this with their product, VitalPAC. This is an award winning software system which enables doctors and nurses to record clinical data on hand held devices at the bedside, analyse it instantly, and automatically summon timely and appropriate help.
This is especially pertinent to vital signs monitoring, promoting regular, complete and accurate monitoring of every patient throughout his or her stay in hospital.
