The Telegraph reported today that waiting times have risen for the first time in a year. In June, 155,439 people had waited longer than 18 weeks to be seen in hospital after being referred by their GP. This can be compared to 143,337 in May.
If we had the ear of Andrew Lansley this morning and he asked ‘What can be done to reduce this?’, we would point him towards Healthcare at Home.
Healthcare at Home does exactly what it says on the tin, with a wealth of experienced nurses on hand to dispense and deliver medication, administer treatments and educate patients on how to self-administer or ensure that a patient’s end of life care is as good as it can be.
By working to reduce hospital admission and readmission rates, Healthcare at Home is helping to decrease waiting times whilst significantly improving patient satisfaction.
