Southwest Pathology Services (SPS) launched their brand new, high tech, multi-million pound laboratory last Friday. Lord Carter of Coles and local MP Jeremy Browne officially opened the new facility, welcoming 120 senior NHS and pathology leaders to check out the whizzy new lab.
ZPB was delighted to be involved in this project as it chimes with our work around public-private partnerships in the NHS. The path lab is the result of a joint venture between two local NHS trusts (Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) and Integrated Pathology Partnerships (iPP).
We wish SPS every success in their project and hope that the NHS embraces this new model of working.
