Rachel Allan

Rachel sits on the ZPB senior management team and supports her clients to achieve their goals with humour and attention to detail, and has recently been delivering integrated communications campaigns, websites and conferences. She has a real interest in how outcomes for people and organisations can be improved by effective and innovative communications.

Rachel has extensive and varied experience in health communications in both New Zealand and the UK. She has managed large, through-the-line public health behaviour-change campaigns in support of national tobacco policy as well as developing and delivering the communications strategy for the introduction of smokefree legislation. She has developed communications strategies to extend the impact of food welfare schemes aimed at vulnerable families and young children.  More recently she was Public Engagement Manager at the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – encouraging people to use CQC information to encourage choice as well as sharing their experiences of care to support inspections.

Rachel is a passionate advocate for the dog-friendly office and is often accompanied by Margot, a Cavachon – half Bichon Frise and half Cavalier Spaniel.
