Jo Spadaccino appointed as Partner to strengthen pharma business

Jo Spadaccino has joined ZPB as a Partner to help deliver the agency’s ambition of bringing the healthcare worlds of pharma, services and tech together into one integrated market strategy, growth and PR agency.

She joins from Pegasus, where she spent the last ten years growing their pharmaceuticals and life sciences team from the ground up into a £4.5m revenue team, before being promoted into a broader cross-agency role overseeing all of the agency’s client partnerships and leading an 85-strong team.

Her appointment builds on ZPB winning an increasing number of pharma contracts over the past 12 months, working on their UK strategies to help better evidence and articulate the value they bring to healthcare systems. It also follows the acquisition of healthcare specialist PR agency Journalista last November.

Commenting on her appointment, Spadaccino said:

“My mission at ZPB is to extend the agency’s 360 vantage point in healthcare – going deeper into the pharmaceutical sector to really challenge the status quo in how communications are delivered.

“For me there was an instant connection to both the consultancy’s mission and the people behind the work. What I like most about the proposition is that you can’t easily put ZPB in a box, and that’s what we want for our clients, their companies, their customers and the end users of healthcare too. Its agility in responding to the recent crises in healthcare prove the potential that data, insight led and collaborative comms have to create the reset that’s now required.”

ZPB Associates CEO, Zoe Bedford, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Jo to our team. Almost every aspect of healthcare is changing at the moment: the way we fund it, the way we consume it, access it and engage with it, and this means that organisations need to rethink their approach and try new ways to engage. Having a 360-degree view of the healthcare system means we’re well placed to help teams do this, and Jo’s appointment allows us to build on this further.”
