The challenge
Diagnostics underpins 70% of clinical decisions, yet the technology behind them remain fragmented and arguably invisible in national debates. Health tech diagnostics company Magentus needed to build reputation and share of voice among NHS leaders and policy makers – demonstrating a genuine UK investment and position itself as the backbone linking radiology, pathology and genomics.

We planned monthly thought leadership and media pitches based on ongoing analysis of the sector’s key challenges – securing coverage in major titles and against Magentus’s core themes. This let us move fast to react to live moments in the NHS news agenda, securing expert-led placements:
-
The launch of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Cancer Plan: this was pitched in as a build of the plan securing an exclusive interview with Marlen Suller, Managing Director of Magentus to discuss its diagnostics and tech implications at a moment of intense national focus.
-
NHS performance trends: we analysed the latest NHS data and identified a growing diagnostic waiting list. We proactively pitched our analysis to The Guardian which included Magentus’ data and secured a direct quote from Marlene Suller, positioning Magentus as an authoritative, data-led voice on system-wide NHS performance.
What we did
This translated into a step change in Magentus’s visibility across the sector:
-
Magentus increased its share of voice by coverage volume from 19% to 32% between Oct–Jan and Jan–Mar, becoming the most visible vendor in the press.
-
Magentus increased its share of media by reach from under 1% to 70%, driven by coverage in significantly higher-reach publications.
The outcome

32%
share of voice up by coverage volume up from 19%
70%
share of media by reach increased from 1%
